Meet Mrs. Halon

Hello and welcome to first grade!  I am looking forward to a fun-filled learning experience and I hope that you and your child are as well.
Please allow me to share a little about myself.  I have a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from the University of Wisconsin Whitewater and Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from National Louis University.  This will be my 10th year of teaching first grade.    In my free time I enjoy running, watching movies, and spending time with my family, which includes my husband, and four young children.
First grade is an exciting time as children embark upon new adventures in the world of learning.  This is a year of important transitions.  You will be amazed at how much your child will grow this year.  During first grade, your child will learn how to read, write stories, add, subtract, and so much more!  I hope to make your child’s first grade year a fun and exciting one and I hope to instill a love of learning that will last throughout your child’s years of schooling.
Communication between home and school is essential in the learning process.  I am always willing to talk or meet with you to discuss your child’s progress throughout the year.  I hope that this blog will also help with the communication between home and school and help to "see" into our weekly events in our classroom.  I look forward to a great year working with you and your child!

Sincerely,

Mrs. Sarah Halon
